» Establishment of an African Automotive Database
The DTI has agreed to fund a project for the publication of the 2010 Automotive Export Manual - South Africa as well as to establish a comprehensive database of companies and individuals in Africa involved in automotive business (not South Africa).
The main purpose of the African database will be: For all South African automotive industry clients, potential clients and relevant contacts to receive a publication of the 2010 Automotive Export Manual – South Africa containing all the detailed information on the domestic automotive industry as well as to receive an invitation to upcoming and future automotive events in South Africa, including the Johannesburg International Motor Show and Automechanika South Africa.
The value proposition is that members will benefit as your contacts will receive free promotion and updates on opportunities while you will also be able to find potential new customers. Worth noting is that total automotive exports from South Africa into Africa amounted to R12,1 billion in 2008.
You are therefore requested to complete the attached preferred template (click here) with as much information as possible on your African contacts. You are however welcome to forward African contact details in any other format to the Automotive Industry Export Council (AIEC) as well. The project will run from 1 January 2010 until 31 July 2010.
Please send the African contacts to Norman Lamprecht at the Automotive Industry Export Council on naamsa@iafrica.com
